This is Atalanta. She decided that she'd marry the man who beat her running. Unfortunately those who can not would be executed. After a lot of young mean not fast enough finally one boy beat her by dropping apples made of gold. Atalanta lost time picking them and so, she lost the race. (to be true, the girl wasn't running very fast because she liked the boy a lot but oh well) As I've said before one of the funniest things about mithologycal stories is their absolute lack of moral.

Once again, nice rendition--I like the background in particular; it sets her off nicely.

Heh, I was telling my sister this story today.... Can't remember the guy's name, though. (Personally, the story does have a moral--don't do anything to annoy the gods. Being a constellation is no fun.)

Haha!! That's the moral that all greek stories have. Don't mess with the Gods. They have a nasty sense of humor. Thanks oblivion.

A long, long, long, long time ago
Before the wind, before the snow.

Todos los asesinos tenían un espejo de cuerpo entero en su habitación, porque sería un insulto terrible para cualquiera matarle estando mal vestido.

This is very impressive. Excellent posture. Great tones. Very well composed.

Just because it is impossible now - doesn't mean it always will be.

I love the ambivalent background, and the footsteps on the ground. :)

The pose is quite fascinating.

I remember myself digging through Greek mythology a few years ago and thinking the same morality thing. The Ancient greeks must have been a funny folk, as well as artistic :plotting:
